Maldon Weekend Away
A week-end away for members in Maldon.
The second weekend away for the year saw 15 Members and spouses drive to Maldon. Some Members were early enough to see and photograph the steam train on Friday morning leaving Muckleford train station heading to Maldon crossing the old trestle bridge. Our sunset location was Anzac Hill which overlooks the township of Maldon but unfortunately wasn't that good, but you never know. On Saturday morning those who were brave enough, drove to the Mount Tarrengower Lookout for the sunrise. The weather was 2o with a feel like temperature of -1o. Needless to say, it took a while to warm up! The remainder of the day was filled with visits to the British Mine ruins, a wander around the township of Maldon with a photo walk challenge, then out to the Cairn Curran boat ramp for sunset. Sunrise on Sunday was amazing. Six of us drove out to Joyce's Creek picnic ground where we watched the mist and clouds roll in over the water and envelope everything that we had been photographing include old dead trees in the reservoir and the surrounding hills and canola paddocks. Those who attended thought it was a highlight. After breakfast and packing up from our accommodation, some Members either revisited a site or one that they had missed before heading home. It was a great weekend and we were blessed with good weather!
