Our judge for this competition was our very own
Brett Ferguson - Brett has been a judge with the APJA for several years now and is usually busy judging for other clubs, so we're excited he could find some time to squeeze us in.
This round's set subject was Creative, defined as:
Creative or experimental photographs display a novel effect because of an unusual combination of objects and /or unusual viewpoint. Photographs in which the images have been modified during or after exposure by using an experimental technique are also eligible in Creative/Experimental sections. The photograph must always have a basic photographic image. Digital manipulation processes may be employed provided the original photograph was exposed by the entrant.

Last night we were treated to a presentation by Dale Rogers of Photo Rangers on the topic of Intimate Landscapes.
The way Dale spoke of this practice as not just a photographic discipline but also as part of his mindfulness routine made me think I need to spend a bit more time doing it myself.
Our judge for this competition was David Skinner - A regional judge from Albury, Zoom meetings have allowed us to have judges come to us from all over, we are grateful for those who have shared their time with us. Judges volunteer their time and judging a competition can take a lot of time, so we're very fortunate to have people who are willing to spend their time to provide us feedback on our images.
Big thanks to our judge
Mario Mirabile who was the judge for our second competition "Monochrome". Mario provided our members with a lot of valuable feedback on their images.

After having our outing to the Full Flight Birds of Prey cancelled last year due to Covid, 24 Members drove up to Miners Rest yesterday. We were all excited and ready to attempt to take motion images of the Birds of Prey. Graeme introduced us to about six different birds, ranging from owls to a raptor and eagle. Quite a few of us laughed at our attempts to get the birds in flight and decided we need a lot more practice.

On the 20th of March, around a dozen members set off for an outing to
Point Roadknight in Anglesea. Some of the "bird nerders" in the group met a little earlier, in search of elusive Southern Emu Wrens. These wrens remained elusive, but a flock of Gang-gang Cockatoos flying overhead and some tips from a local birder made up for that!
Happy New Year Everyone, our first competition entries are due at the first meeting of the year, members should have received an email from Tania, our Competition Steward. If you didn't receive an email can you please confirm we have your email address correct; shoot me an email webmaster@williamstowncameraclub.com.au
